LC Classification stands for Library of Congress Classification, which is the primary classification system used in academic libraries because it groups materials by subject. Each item in the collection is assigned a call number that consists of letters and numbers to help locate each item on the shelf.
When using ODTÜ Library's Online Catalog, a call number accompanies the record of an item. In the catalog, the call number appears on one line. For example;
Physics : the first science / Peter Lindenfeld and Suzanne White Brahmia. Lindenfeld, Peter.
The same corresponding call number found on the spine of a book or item, letting you know its location on the shelf.
If we take the following call number: QC52 .D48 2011
Think of it this way:
To understand,you can watch some videos which are about call no.
Knowing how to locate books using call numbers will save you time.
The books with these subjects located B block on the second floor at the Librar.
